My daughter Kate ordered six mallards. The local post office called this morning to tell us they were there and we needed to come pick them up. Oh my Goodness! How cute are they? She wants to raise them and let them loose on our lake. I'm worried that there are too many predators and they won't survive. We shall see. I have to think positive!

How cute those little ducklings are! I would keep them safe inside for awhile before taking them to the lake. I once saw an owl try to take a baby duck out of the river. Fortunately, I was there to scare the owl off in time. Take care, Janicce
ReplyDeleteOh how cute Pat! They look so soft and sweet.
ReplyDeleteHope you and Kate enjoy many days watching them down by the lake.

Oh my, they sent them in the mail?! The poor wee ducklings, I can't begin to imagine how terrifying that must have been for them! I hope they survive, it will be hard for them without a Momma to show them the ropes, you will have to be their Momma Duck Pat! Deb
ReplyDeleteOh my word, so cute!! I had no idea that they mailed them through the post office, wow! That seems so funny. Have fun raising them~
ReplyDeleteThose are cute little creatures...make me smile!
ReplyDeleteOh my, they need thier mamas to teach them the ropes, I am with you, and I think they will not survive....mom knows everything!! You will have to teach them the ropes!! I hope you are prepared!! Read up on what mama duck teaches her babies!! Good Luck, sweet little ducklings!!! If you can't teach them the ropes perhaps thanksgiving table will be featuring duck instead of turkey! hmmmm???
