Christmas Photos

I finally went through my Chirstmas pictures.  I wish I had taken more.  It was bedlam at my house, Just how I like it! My 4 kids, and their significant others, and two Granddaughters were all here. My Parent's popped in for a nice prime rib roast dinner.
The before, a thing of beauty!

During the grand opening.  Notice the mess! The girls had fun with the styrofoam peanuts.  They made snow.

My Son Jared the Beer meister! I found the glasses on etsy.

Son Brett, and his Fiance, Miranda got a new Kitchenaid stand mixer.  He wasn't as thrilled as Miranda was!  I wonder why??

Auntie Pam playing with Ava and Grace.

Kate hugging her new robe.  Notice the yule log burning on the TV? How corny are we?
I hope you had a special day with your families.
Have a Wonderful, Happy, Healthy New Year!!

Our Favorite Peanut butter balls

I've been baking up a storm.  We have at least 5 cookies that we have to make every Christmas.  Then,  I always  like to try a few new recipes. My Husband even gets in on the act.  I've been making Peanut butter balls since 1979.  My Grandmother sent me the recipe on a hand written recipe card that I cherish.   This is actually a no bake recipe.

3 Cups graham cracker crumbs.
1  1 lb. box Powdered confectioners sugar
1   18 oz. jar chunky peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 sticks melted butter or margarine
1 cup coconut (optional)

Mix well and roll into walnut size balls.

Melt one bag of chocolate chips with one 1/2 block of parafin wax, in a double boiler.
Dip the balls in the melted chocolate and set on a sheet of wax paper until the chocolate hardens.
(I  melt the chocolate and wax in a mini crockpot)
Hint.  You may have to add a few extra scoops of peanut butter if the dough is too crumbly to form balls.
This makes about 90 balls.
YUMMY!!!

Charley wanted to wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
In this photo, he was out on our screened in porch begging me to let him back inside.  Brrrr!!  Too cold out there for one spoiled rotten kitty.

My tree skirt has legs!

I finally finished my Christmas tree yesterday.  Granddaughter Grace came over to help Mom-Mom and Opa.

Notice the tree skirt nicely placed around the tree?  It didn't last very long.

Yep! That's Charley in the center with his little face poking out.

This is what I found this afternoon.   HELP!
I decided that Santa will have to make an early delivery of some very heavy presents.
As I post this,  Charley is all wrapped up in his tree skirt far from the tree.

My Holiday Home

I finally got most of the decorating finished . My live Frasier Fur will go up this weekend.  This post is of the Living Room decorations.  I'll post the dinning room and main tree soon.

Santa came from Williamsburg Va.

I filled the lighted cabinets in the entertainment unit with some of our favorite Christmas decorations.

The Antique ladies desk is simply decoratied with pewter candle sticks, and a very old A Christmas Carol book.  The clock was a wedding present to me from my Husband in 1976.

I found this antique glass vessel at a local shop.  We want to eventually put a terrarium in it.
I purchased the birds, and paper stars at Pottery Barn.  They sit on a bed of faux snow, with pinecones and tea lights.
It's so pretty at night.

I've had this set of Byer's Choice carolers for a long time. The are sitting on the lower shelf of my end table.
I wanted to put some snow around them,  but quickly changed my mind when the Granddaughters came to vistit!  They think the Carolers are play dolls!  No snow this year.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my living room decorations.

Christmas decorating preview

I'm working like crazy to get my house decorated.  I decided to post it in several posts.  I don't like looking at long posts, I'm a quick and to to point kinda Gal.
This is my preview.  Little Ava was helping mop and clean!  The sweetie was all dressed up in her Christmas outfit, after talking to Santa.

Primitive Santa Doll

I made two Santa's using a new Tennessee Ridge Primitives pattern.  I'm getting low on this old quilt,  sure wish I had more.  I keep coming up with new ideas that I want to make from it.   The dolls are listed on my etsy and website.
Have a good week everyone.

Ornie's anyone?

I've been babysitting my two Granddaughters alot lately.  The only thing I can do and watch little ones is to make Ornies!!!   I take them to trim, turn, and stuff.  Then, I sew  the opening closed.  I have this big pile finished.  Tomorrow, they get stained and baked.  Then, I think some will go into  prim lamps, others,  in sets.  My Friend Joleen from the primitive bucket, gave me some ideas.  She rocks making Prim lamps w/ornies!!

This is the new sheet music star that I bought form Marian at missmustardseedinteriors.  I just love her
blog.  She is so creative and talented.  I hung my star in the front window.

Next and least, is my Daughter's new Guinie Pig.  Her name is Zoey.
I never thought I would like one, but she's growing on me! I'm such a pushover!
A vege eater scores high in my book!

Have a wonderful weekend.  Didn't I just say that, and now it' another weekend!!!

I've been so busy w/ the Elderly Parents, but wanted to post some fun family stuff.

My MIL had hip replacement surgery last week, and is a big Handfull!
I had a nice weekend  celebrating my Son, Jared's 29th B-day.  Friday, we went out on the town to Philly for Dinner.  I had his Birthday Dinner at home on Sunday.  He has to have the easy, peasy cheesecake, (Philadelphia 3 step cheesecake) for his Birthday cake. I don't mind, It's EASY!!

We have a family tradition of singing  Happy Birthday as loud,  and off key as possible! Newbies, don't know what to think.  Little Ava, held by her Mom, My Daughter, Erin, just loves it, and was clapping, and singing.

Later that night, Ava took a ride on Auntie Kate's Back. Notice the Stuffing Box? LOL...

The next day, my Darling Daughter came home with this!!! Just what I needed was another Critter in the house.

Have a happy week everyone!! I hope to post some craft creations soon.  I keep making the same things over and over, filling orders.  I want badly to finish something NEW!

A few things that I've been working on.

I must say, it's been busy around here.  I'm thankful for all my wonderful customers, old and new.
I had this idea for bell ornies. I was going to call them "Silver Bells", but the bells I bought turned out to be gold, not silver! I'm blaming the poor lighting in Wally world, or maybe my contacts need changing! LOL.
Anyway, I thought they looked better with the rusty ones, so now I call them "Jingle Bells". I did dust them with silver glass glitter which I really like.

A Friend of mine saw my craft show pictures from several weeks ago.  In one she saw a reindeer.  She asked if I could make her one since that one sold.   I was looking through some boxes the other day, and lo and behold, I found several that I made last year.  Here they are.  I think I'll get them listed, since I have extra made up.
I made them from a Chestnut junction pattern, but added the ears.  I love prim, but earless reindeer? No thanks!

My little, and not so little trick or treaters

My DIL, Pam was Batwoman.  I think I'll be a bad MIL and put this picture on FB.
Little Ava had a cold and wasn't a very happy ladybug.

Grace wanted to be a Dr. Like Aunt Pam.

Grace just loves her Aunt Kate.  Kate already had her Witch costume off.

Trick or Treat from my little Witch to yours!

My Daughter Kate dressed up for work yesterday. She's my only one still living home, so Mom had to snap her picture!  I miss the days when I had to dress up 4 kids, and drag them all over the county trick or treating!  Back then, it was such a chore.
Have a safe, and fun Halloween.

This is my Niece/Cousin Bevin and her Husband Aaron. I just love the makeup that she did for this
Titanic survivor costume. She's so talented!!
I say Niece/Cousin, because she is the Daughter of my Favorite Cousin, Cindy.
Bevin always calls me,  Aunt Pat!!

I'm working on some new Snowmen

This is the very beginning of the snowmen. I can't show what I'm making because it's a surprise for one of my eBay groups Snowman exchange. I had to tease.

My little doggie Niece, Sadie the Jack Russell  is here visiting this weekend. Her Daddy, my Nephew Chas, and I share custody.  She's his, but lived w/us for almost 3 years. Now, she comes for visits when he needs a doggie sitter.  I just love her. Never say the word "Treat" around her, unless you have one.
It's a Dogs life!
